The clocks have changed, the evenings are darker, and honestly once I’m back from California I’m planning on diving straight in to it. This week’s edit is all about the joy of staying in. From soft knits and low lighting to comfort food and self-care, these are the little things that make hibernation season feel like a treat instead of a drag.
🔥 Set the Scene
Create a little magic after sunset. Think candlelight, low lamps, and soft music.
A few fairy lights never hurt either. I’ve rounded up some of my favourite home pieces that make evenings feel warm, inviting, and a little bit special.

💗 Lounging Around
If you’re going to stay in, why not do it in style. Swap the old joggers for something that feels good – soft loungewear, chunky socks, or an oversized cardigan that doubles as a hug. These are the pieces that make the 8 p.m. “Netflix and tea” moment feel like an occasion.

🍝 Easy Comfort Dinners
When it’s dark by 5, cooking needs to be simple and satisfying. Think one-pot wonders, traybakes, or anything that smells amazing while it cooks. A bowl of something warm, a glass of red, a good playlist = instant comfort. These always hit the spot.
- Chestnut and Mushroom Pie – a warming pie made with chestnuts, mushrooms and marsala wine.
