For the record – I hate the term ‘anti-ageing’. How can we be anti the inevitable? Why is it frowned upon for women to get wrinkles yet for men it’s embraced? I think I’ll stand on my soapbox about this some other time – but for now I will tell you about fab ‘anti-ageing’ products I’ve tried out that my skin and I love.
Winter is almost here too, so stepping up your skin care regime is key so protect your skin from the cold weather. It does more damage than you think!

Internal and external aggressors, such as pollution, sun exposure, stress and diet are all silently ageing your skin each day – so let’s embrace ageing well with some fantastic products that are clinically proven to slow down the appearance of ageing signs.
First up, I am loving the Avon winter skin care products. I really like the Anew eye cream (a best seller for Avon £12) and their rotational night cream called Infinite Effects Night Treatment Cream £19.95 – Start with phase 1 for 7 nights and rotate to phase 2 for the next 7 nights – continuing to rotate week after week. Using these creams in rotation help retrain your skin and prevent it from adapting, meaning you will see dramatic results on wrinkles that keep getting better over time.
I’ve also been using this VICHY ‘slow age’ (hurrah for the name) moisturiser. This beautiful smelling cream (that I can’t get enough of) targets ageing concerns and strengthens your skin’s barrier function. The light lotion is packed with antioxidants and probiotics – and it has an SPF 25. Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be using an SPF. £30 from Boots and other high street chemists.
I’ve also been using ALGENIST Genius Liquid Collagen. Collagen is the key structural element the skin needs to maintain it’s youthful appearance. As skin matures, the production and availability of collagen (the most abundant protein in the body responsible for skin’s elasticity) decreases rapidly. However!!… this little bad boy of liquid collagen works it magic to to unveil a youthful radiance – smoother and firmer skin, with reduced visibility of fine lines and wrinkles. £90 from SpaceNK.
Another great product is the Beauty Pro Lifting 3D Clay Mask. This one should be enjoyed when you have a little more time on your hands – as you leave the mask on for 40-60 minutes.. worth it though! This two part mess free clay sheet mask with Calamine helps to cleanse and tighten pores, lift complexion and increase skin clarity. The 3D clay mask wraps around the natural contours of the face to provide a deep lifting treatment. Once applied, the mask will begin to harden, so don’t plan on putting this on before the school run! This penetrates deep into the pores to provide a thorough cleanse which will leave your skin feeling instantly tighter and firm. £3.45
