Love them or hate them, the summer holidays can be a welcome break from the school runs, although a daunting amount of time to fill and the ultimate childcare juggle! I hope my guide helps you through and allows you to relax – we’ve got this!!
Kids Eat Free/Cheap
After making what feels like 10 meals a day, take the pressure off and let them make a mess at a different table! Take a screenshot and save it on your phone, then when you’re out and about and they need feeding – you’re sorted!
- Asda: Kids eat for £1 with free fruit and baby pouches too
- Bella Italia: Kids get 3 courses and a drink for £1 Sun – Wed, 4-6pm
- Beefeater & Brewers Fayre: Free breakfast for up to 2 kids per adult, any day!
- BrewDog: Book a table with “KIDSEATFREE” for a free main any day
- Dunelm Cafe: Kids eat free for every £4 spent, everyday
- IKEA: Kids eat for 95p from 11am on Fridays
- Preto: Download a free voucher from their website for free kids meals
- Bill’s: Up to two kids eat free during weekdays
- YO! Sushi: Kids eat free per £10 adult spend on weekdays
- Sainsburys: Kids eat for £1 with an adult main
- TGI Fridays: Kids eat free any day with the Rewards App
- Pret: Kids triangle sandwiches available (win!) and free babyccinos
Cheap Days Out
Sometimes you just need to get out of the house, and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Whether that is visiting a National Trust attraction, theme park or a day out somewhere new. It’s good for the soul to do something different together!
- National Trust Family Membership – £13.25 a month for 2 adults and unlimited children or grandchildren – you can then visit more than 500 places for free, check out their website for inspiration and ones nearby.
- 2 for 1 tickets with National Rail and Days Out Guide – with over 250+ attractions including Legoland Windsor (my fave), Thorpe Park, Kew Gardens, London Zoo and Alton Towers when you purchase a rail ticket.
- Fountains and splash parks – many places now have a splash park that you can access for free, or for a low cost. If you’re in London head down to the Southbank Centre for the Appearing Rooms exhibition and have some fun!
- Cheap Lion King and Frozen Musical tickets, sign up to access £29.50 tickets on a Monday for that week’s performances – but you have to be quick!
- Free sports sessions with Capri-sun promo packs – from swimming to golf and even taekwondo, you can get free kids sessions at over 1,500 venues.
Head To The Beach
There is nothing better than letting them loose on the beach, they can run free, build sandcastles and paddle in the freezing sea! Take a picnic and you have a super cheap day out, plus you never know you may be able to lie down for 5 minutes!
A life hack for you – I recently discovered Beach Powder that instantly removes sand with no fuss at all, you will thank me later for this one!!
If You’re Travelling…
A little reminder of my travel must-haves to make it that little bit less stressful. Inflatable foot pillows for smaller ones are genius, hanging toy bags for the back of the seat allow easy access, and investing in a pair of wireless headphones will save you a headache!

Here I am again talking sunscreen, but it’s so important and can make getting ready in the mornings so much less stressful. I highly recommend investing before you travel with brands you can trust – and sand resistant is a winner too!
