As a model, the idea of putting clothes on an off should come extremely natural to me and something that I enjoy. I didn’t when it came to jean shopping – until recently.
I’m a curvy size 14/16 woman and the thought of going shopping for jeans used to fill me with dread.
They were either too short in the leg, too short in the body, arse crack on display, ankle swingers, too skinny, or made me feel like an elephant. And lets face it – the mirrors in changing rooms are not the most flattering. My jean shopping trips would usually end with me feeling deflated, enormous and miserable.
Our bodies change after childbirth – so naturally sometimes we can’t fit into our jeans we had before we became mothers. Either you’ve gained weight or lost it – but we all live in jeans pretty much so I wanted to research around on what pair would work for me.
A woman’s body is like a guitar – we just have to learn how to play it correctly.
On modelling shoots over the years, I have been dressed in some fantastic jeans for that you can come across on the high street and some that you can only buy online – but I wanted to dig a little deeper to find a pair of jeans that made me feel sexy regardless if I am on the school run or on my way to casting, or on a date with my husband.
I think I have found the ‘mother’ of all jeans for curvier women.
Violeta by Mango has nailed it on the jeans front for me.
Lots of different style to choose from, cropped, boot leg, skinny, boyfriend – great colours to choose from too AND they fit so well – which means they are flattering to your body shape.
They’ve been designed to flatter a curvier body – you can be assured your bum crack won’t be on display when you bend down at soft play and you’ll look super chic when out and about on the high street running errands. These make me feel very confident..and like I’ve still got it.
I also am in love with Mos Mosh Jeans
I recently discovered these jeans when I was talking on a panel for the Jeans for Genes charity and fell in love with them as soon as I tried them on. I couldn’t believe how comfy they were, how great the fit was and how good I felt in them. I’m wearing them now as I write this post!
These two brands have made my jean shopping much more enjoyable AND I look and feel like I’m on the catwalk when I’m doing the school run.
My husband also been checking me out and said I looked sexy. Job done!
