On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a black man, was killed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. During an arrest, Derek Chauvin, a white American police officer, kept his knee on the side of Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face down.
Thousands of protesters of all colours, religions and nations came together peacefully across America and the UK to make a change. Black Lives Matter.
I am white and without realising it, I am privileged. I realised, like many others, I need to educate myself, to listen, to read, to learn and to have conversations so that we can be an ally for the Black community and help fight for a positive future.
I am sharing links, books, petitions and individuals that we all should know about… I want to share with you too.
