Food, Fuel & The Bloat I Lived With for a Decade

Following on from The Foundations of Balance, this next instalment is about how I completely rethought the way I fuel my body – and how that’s given me more energy, better focus, and a huge reduction in the bloating that used to rule my day.

I’d spent the better part of a decade feeling uncomfortable after eating. Bloated belly, tight clothes, brain fog – even when I thought I was eating well. But the real turning point? It came during a colonic irrigation appointment (of all places), when the lovely practitioner looked up mid-treatment and said she loved my content. In that moment, I knew I needed to finally sort myself out.

Coming into perimenopause, I also noticed my body processes food differently. I knew I needed to help it out – not punish it. That mindset shift, paired with practical changes, has been a game-changer.
